A beauty routine with less plastic

Plastic is not fantastic

Our daily beauty routine: for many of us our morning ritual begins with our morning beauty routine. If we think about the global crisis and the disastrous pollution of the world’s oceans, looking around our bathrooms will undoubtedly fill us with horror. But that does not have to be the case: to pamper and care for yourself in an eco-friendly way, plastic can quite easily be replaced by eco-friendly alternatives.

Dental hygiene: cleaning your teeth and using a toothbrush and dental floss made of bamboo, will help you start your day with less plastic. It will also do your teeth and gums a world of good.

My body is my temple

It is possible to do something nice for yourself and something good for your skin in a sustainable way:  makeup wipes, cotton swabs and makeup removal pads are often difficult to recycle since many contain a very high share of microplastic and plastic fibers. Alternatives made of  VEOCEL™  fibers represent alternatives since they consist of wood-based and completely biodegradable fibers. The same is true of cooling, regenerating or moisturizing facemasks: many of the products available comprise plastic and consumers should decide to buy masks of wood-based VEOCEL™ fibers instead.

Let’s say goodbye to conventional and above all plastic-based shower gels, shampoos and conditioners! The eco-friendly variant is available in a solid form. This saves on packaging waste as well as microplastic which is hidden in many conventional soaps and shower gels and which gets into our oceans via wastewaters.

As for those little hairs on our legs, under our arms and in intimate places, one can, for the sake of the environment, turn to plastic razors with interchangeable heads – and less plastic is then used than in single-use razors. Natural razors of stainless steel in a vintage look are even more sustainable and stylish.

And finally one small and final tip: Deodorant sticks can be replaced by deodorant creams.

It's In Our Hands – anyone who keeps their eyes open when shopping and makes a point of reading about the ingredients and materials used, can make a difference.
