Ask me anything series 2.0 Part A – ClimatePartner
Introducing our second guest, ClimatePartner! They are a leading solution provider for corporate climate action – in other words, they offer companies climate action solutions with an opportunity to measure, reduce and offset their climate impact. Our partnership with ClimatePartner has allowed us to validate our carbon reduction activities through their carbon neutral certification, helping us to build trust with our consumers and prioritize our goal of reducing carbon emissions to mitigate climate impact.
We sat down with Melanie Hofer, Customer Management at ClimatePartner, to learn more about their mission to enable customers to take climate action into their own hands.

Q: Tell us more about ClimatePartner?
Melanie: ClimatePartner was founded in Munich in 2006 and we now have more than 500 employees spread across offices in Europe and North America. By combining individual consulting with a cloud-based software, we are offering something that is quite unique to the market. We help our customers calculate and reduce carbon emissions and offset residual emissions.
Products which are made with net-zero emissions, as certified by ClimatePartner, are able to display our designated label on their packaging to further confirm that they are certified with a carbon neutral footprint. This allows brands to build more trusted and credible relationships with their customers as well. With the confirmation of our label, the product, service or company are certified by us as carbon neutral. This means that customers can easily tackle climate action with everyday purchasing decisions.
In addition, we offer carbon offset projects that provide social benefits in different regions and with different technologies and standards. Our efforts are geared towards the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. We work with more than 5,000 companies in 60+ countries currently, which is very exciting to see how we have grown!
Q: How does ClimatePartner collaborate with the VEOCEL™ brand?
Melanie: We are thrilled about our collaboration with the VEOCEL™ brand. In addition to their own carbon reduction efforts, we have supported the brand in offering carbon neutral VEOCEL™ Lyocell fibers by offsetting their emissions, allowing the fibers to have a carbon footprint reduced to net-zero. By choosing carbon neutral VEOCEL™ fibers, you can make an eco-conscious decision and contribute to tackling climate change.
VEOCEL™’s ongoing environmental campaigns such as #ItsInOurHands, aim to inspire people to take more initiative in making eco-responsible decisions for their everyday life, which will result in creating a more sustainable place for us to live in!
Q: What message from your organization would you want our readers to know?
Melanie: There are many things I would like to share, but I want to talk specifically about the steps needed for climate action to be effective. We have identified three specific steps: calculating greenhouse gas emissions, avoiding, and reducing emissions where possible, and offsetting unbated emissions through certified carbon offset projects.
The first step is to have a regularly updated carbon footprints count in order to gauge the effectiveness of the climate action measures and track the progress of their reduction goals. The second step is to formulate a clear climate action strategy to avoid and reduce emissions where possible. The third is to offset emissions by supporting a certified carbon offset project. Always choose a project that fits, whether it is your purpose, values, actions, products or service. By taking these steps, we believe the commitment to climate change reduction will be seen as truly credible.
