Ask me anything series 4.0 Part A – Kudos
Introducing our fourth guest, Kudos! They are a leading provider of sustainable baby products and created the first ever disposable and plant-based baby diapers lined with 100% cotton. And they’re taking it even further by using 100% VEOCEL™ branded lyocell fibers that are compostable, biodegradable, and made from sustainably harvested trees, in their wipes.
We sat down with Moira Finicane, Head of Marketing at Kudos, to learn more about their mission to create a plastic-free future.

Q: Can you give us a background of Kudos?
Moira: At Kudos, we believe in a plastic-free future for our children and we are committed to getting there…one tush at a time. Most people don’t know this, but with most traditional disposable diapers and wipes, a baby’s sensitive skin touches plastic all day. Not only is plastic harmful to the environment, but it can also contain harmful chemicals that can absorb into the skin and disrupt reproductive and endocrine systems. Kudos is the only disposable diaper where the baby’s bum touches 100% soft, sustainable, hypoallergenic cotton – the #1 doctor-recommended material for rash and eczema. And our wipes, which are EWG-certified and made from 100% VEOCEL™ Lyocell fibers, are biodegradable, compostable, and responsibly sourced from sustainably managed forests.
Q: How do you coincide the sustainability of your products with the quality?
Moira: At Kudos, we believe in what our founder calls elegant sustainability: That sustainable products can and should be as high performing (or even better performing!) than their non-sustainable counterparts. That’s why, when we set about creating Kudos diapers, ensuring superior overnight protection was so important to us. Not only do Kudos diapers have 4x more plant-based components than the leading disposable diaper, but we are also the only disposable diaper to have 2x the absorption layers – a byproduct of our patent-pending DoubleDryTM technology developed by our team of former MIT and P&G engineers. We took this same approach when it came to developing our wipes and that’s why we chose to partner with Lenzing – the quality they provide is just unparalleled.
Q: What are some key steps you personally take to care for our planet in your daily life?
Moira: The team at Kudos is committed to reducing plastic consumption and exposure whenever possible. While it can be hard to eliminate plastic entirely, we’ve found that there are some easy swaps that can really make a difference. We’re all about the baby steps! Here are five swaps that our team of moms swear by:
- Opting for wooden toys instead of plastic toys.
- Choosing silicone or stainless-steel kids’ dishware.
- Ditching the ziploc plastic baggies for more sustainable options, like reusable snack and storage bags.
- Selecting certified safe materials when possible.
- Buying used instead of new. In addition to the environmental benefits of reusing old furniture and gear and saving them from the landfill, seeking already-used furniture can help you avoid exposure to the initial off-gassing of VOCs that occurs when you buy new furniture.
